This package is a full day tour to Phong Nha Cave & Vinh Moc Tunnels. This tour starts from Phong Nha Cave. Phong Nha is a national park and UNESCO World Heritage Site located in Vietnam 's North Central Coast region, some 500 km south of Hanoi. Phong Nha is noted for its grotto and cave systems, as it consists of 300 caves and grottoes. Next Moving towards the Vin Moc. It is the remains of a North Vietnamese coastal village that went underground in response to relentless American bombing. More than 90 families have vanished into three tunnel levels running for nearly 2 km, and have managed to live and work as bombs rained around them. Next moving towards the Hien Luong Bridge. Next moving towards the Hien Luong Bridge. The Hien Luong Bridge-a bridge across the Ben Hai River which formed part of the North-South Vietnam border from 1954 until the 1976 reunification. There is also a museum near the bridge, remnants of propaganda wars, and two memorials. Next step towards the river Ben Hai. It is the southern bank now possesses a grandiose monument to reunification, its stylized palm leaves strangely resembling missiles. Next moving towards the Con Tien. This is the foundation that started as a U.S. Camp for the Army Special Forces transitioning to a combat base of the United States Marine Corps. It was situated close to the Demilitarized Zone in Vietnam. Lastly moving towards Doc Mieu. It is the DMZ 's closest American base, just a few short clicks above the Dong Hoa place. Now it's nothing more than a clearing with a Sherman Tank's rusting hulk but once it was an operation beehive. Briefly stop here for some tours.
